This was another big no-limit holdem Saturday field, with over 2300 players. The tournament director announced that this was the 5th largest poker tournament field in history. The series had scheduled the small buy-in no-limit events on Saturdays to allow for maximum participation. Up until Harrah's took over the WSOP, field size was constrained to the space available at Binion's I guess, and of course, the rise in popularity has driven things. My assignment is high in the break order, but I still managed five tourney downs before having the table I was on broke. The most notable player I dealt to was Eric "Rizen" Lynch, who made his name online and then has had considerable live tournament success recently. I also dealt to Dave Colclough, who I remembered from the British Poker After Dark TV series and Michael Spiegal. There were a ton of dealers on this particular day and it appeared that I was going to have some time to wait before entering a second day restart or possibly being assigned to cash. I knew there was a tourney starting over at Binion's and I had an itch to play myself, so when the dealer coordinator asked for Early Out volunteers, I offered and checked out quickly.
